JAMES RIVER BAPTIST CHURCH

ONLINE GIVING

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT!

God provides for the ministry of our church through your tithes and offerings and your gifts are honored with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and accountability to our lead team and denomination. We believe the church needs to be irrationally generous and when we choose to be generous with what we have, it makes a difference, for both the individual doing the giving and the purpose it supports. It’s more than keeping the lights on and the gears turning. It’s about personal worship to God and handing Him back what He already owns, and it’s about lives changing through the transformative power of the Gospel in our region and beyond. At James River, we give more than 21% of our tithes and offering to support local and international mission-related work.

> 21% Supports Mission Work

6% goes to the Peninsula Baptist Association helping people through local mission work on the Virginia Peninsula

15% goes to the Baptist General Association of Virginia for mission work

James River also gives to causes above this 21%:

 - Deacons Fund - we give directly to people in our area in emergency situations

 - Lottie Moon Offering at Christmas for missionaries in North America

 - Annie Armstrong Offering at Easter helps missionaries in all other parts of the world

 - Baptist Collegiate Ministries of W&M for international students on J1 Visas

James River strives to lead the way with irrational generosity and compassion and will do everything possible to make the strongest impact on the community and the world with our resources.

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Giving a portion of what God has given you is an act of faith, demonstrating your trust in His provision. It's also an act of worship, recognizing God as the giver of all we have. But giving a portion of your treasure is just the beginning.
